About:

Softly and Tenderly bulletin features the hymn verse: Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling,
calling for you and for me;
see, on the portals he's waiting and watching,
watching for you and for me.
Come home, come home;
ye who are weary come home;
earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling,
calling, O sinner, come home!
The bulletin is shown folded (8.5" x 5.5"), exactly as church members and visitors will receive it. Worship bulletins arrive packaged flat 8.5" x 11" to fit into your printer or copier; shrink wrapped in packages of 100. The back side is blank to print your preferred information.

Will Lamartine Thompson (1847-1909) was born in Pennsylvania, but his family moved to East Liverpool, Ohio (near the Pennsylvania border) while he was still quite young. His father was a successful merchant, and also served in the Ohio legislature for a time.Thompson was a Christian, and while attending a Dwight L. Moody evangelistic meeting decided to devote himself to writing and promoting Christian music. He wrote "Softly and Tenderly Jesus is Calling" in 1880. It quickly became popular as a hymn of invitation in evangelistic meetings, and was soon incorporated into church hymnals as well. Dwight L. Moody, the most famous evangelist of his day, used "Softly and Tenderly" as an invitation hymn in his meetings. (Reference: lectionary.org/hymnstories/Softly and Tenderly)
